How to make chocolate salami

Start the preparation of the chocolate salami by coarsely chopping the dark chocolate 1then let it melt in a bain-marie or in the microwave.

Mix the egg and softened butter in a bowl 2which should be kept out of the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before use.

Tips

You can use your favorite dry biscuits, taking care however that they are not too buttery, to prevent the dessert from being too greasy because the butter is already present among the ingredients. It is also possible to create a version of the chocolate salami without butter: just replace it with seed oil. For a less intense taste, however, you can use the milk chocolate instead of black.

The traditional recipe calls for rum, for a pleasantly aromatic note, but if you don’t like it, you can substitute it with another liquor of your choice. For a non-alcoholic version, for example if the chocolate salami is for children, you can replace it with the same amount of Orange juice.

The chocolate salami can be stored in the refrigerator, covered with cling film, for 3-4 days. It can even be frozen for a month approximately, taking care to let it thaw in the refrigerator and then keep it at room temperature for an hour before serving it.
