I Cinnamon cookies they are gods treaty spicy and with an unmistakable aroma, perfect for snacking during the cold season a to tastewith a hot infusion or hot chocolate, or to enjoy as a treat end of meal in the company of friends.

Easy to make, they can be prepared in just a few minutes and with a handful of ingredients, often already present at home: egg, butter, flour, sugar, grated orange zest and, of course, ground cinnamon.

Once you have obtained a smooth and homogeneous dough, it will be enough to cut it, after a short rest in the refrigerator, with a special heart shape, then bake everything in the oven until it is golden brown. In this way you will obtain biscuits with a light and crumbly consistency and an amber color, ideal to be eaten during the Christmas time as well as other thematic cookies.

If you wish, you can wrap them in your favorite shapes (stars, angels, snowmen…) and give them to guests, inside transparent bags, as a welcome gift, or you can choose to hang them on the tree: just make a hole with a toothpick in the biscuits before putting them in the oven.

You can if you want ice them with royal icing or with a dark chocolate coating, or you can enrich them with cubes of candied ginger, cardamom, vanilla powder, chopped dried fruit and raisins.

For an impeccable result it is important to carry out the sandblasting quickly, so as not to overheat the butter, which must be very cold out of the fridge: if you have the tool at home, you can also use a planetary mixer or a food processor for this operation.

How to make cinnamon cookies

Collect the sifted flour and the cold butter in small pieces in a salad bowl 1.

Proceed with sandblasting by quickly working the ingredients with your fingertips 2.

Start mixing with your hands 6then transfer the mixture to a work surface and continue kneading.

Once you have a smooth, even brick 7wrap it in a sheet of transparent film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.

Once the time has elapsed, take the dough 8 and let it dissolve for a few minutes on the counter.

Then roll it out with a rolling pin. 9 1/2 cm thick.

Cut the dough using a heart-shaped cookie cutter ten; then knead the scraps obtained and proceed to make the biscuits, until all the ingredients are used up.

Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper 11 and bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C, in static mode, for about 15 minutes.

Once cooked, take them out. 12transfer them to a wire rack and let them cool.
