I Little bread are soft rolls of American origin ideal to be enjoyed with sweet or savory fillings or to be eaten as is, instead of bread. To make them, all you have to do is prepare a dough made from flour, milk, butter, sugar, dry brewer’s yeast, egg and salt. After the rising phase, the dough will be divided into balls, which will be placed in a rectangular mold and brushed with butter, before being baked. Once ready, enjoy the buns sweet version for the breakfastwith creams or jams, or in salty version with charcuterie, cheeses, vegetables or savory mousses for a brunch or a aperitif. Here are the steps to make them.

Come and bake some buns

In a large bowl, mix the milk with the dry brewer’s yeast and 10 g of sugar. Cover with cling film and leave to rest for 5 minutes 1.

Add another 10 g of sugar, egg, butter, salt, flour and mix with your hands 2 to obtain a compact paste.

Grease the bowl with oil and let the dough rise for 2 hours 3 or until doubled in size.

Divide it into 15 balls and place them carefully in the 20×30 cm rectangular mold (4).

Cover with foil 5 and let rise for 1 hour.

Brush the bread with melted butter and bake in the oven at 180°C in a static way for 25 minutes 6.

Buns can be stored at room temperature one dayenclosed in a special plastic bag for food.
