Heart-shaped pancakes: the recipe for fluffy and scenographic sweets

THE heart shaped pancakes they are gods sweet sourdough products greedy and scenographic, ideal for the feast of Valentine’s Day or to prepare when you want to make something different from the classic fried donuts. In our recipe, we made two versions, obtaining from the batter a part of pancakes with an empty heart and a part filled with hazelnut cream: you will thus obtain in a single preparation two types of pancakes that will conquer young and old. Once fried, these delicious fluffy hearts will go through the caster sugar still hot, ready to eat. Here are the steps to make them.

How to make heart shaped pancakes

In a large bowl, mix the flour with the sugar, the fresh brewer’s yeast, the zest of a lemon, the zest of an orange, the egg, a little water 1 and mix with a wooden spoon.

When the ingredients are mixed, pour the remaining water and knead with your hands 2.

When you get a compact dough, add salt and butter 3.

Work the dough a little more to incorporate the ingredients, cover the bowl with the transparent film 4 and let rise for 2 hours or until doubled in size.

Divide the bread in two. Roll out the first half with a rolling pin 5.

Cut out 10cm hearts using a cookie cutter 6.

Transfer the hearts to the baking paper and with a smaller mold cut a heart in the center of each 7. Cover them with a tea towel and let rise for 1 hour.

Roll out the second half of the dough as well and cut it into several rectangles. Pour the hazelnut cream onto a rectangle using the teaspoon 8.

Wet the edge of the rectangle with water and cover with a second rectangle. Close the edges well 9.

Use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut pieces near the hazelnut cream ten.

Transfer the hearts to the parchment paper 11cover them with a tea towel and let them rise for 1 hour.

Then fry them in hot oil until golden brown. 12.

Roll the pancakes in the shape of a heart in the sugar and serve 13.

Advice

You can also stuff heart-shaped pancakes Cream oh Jam and you can stuff them even after cooking by adding the filling using a pocket bag.

storage

You can store pancakes in the shape of a heart for A day inside a well-closed food bag, although it is advisable to consume them immediately after preparation, to get the most out of them.
