How to prepare marmalade or pear jam

Start by sterilizing the jars. Wash and dry the pears, then cut them in half and remove the core and skin 1.

Cut the pulp into cubes and collect it little by little in a large bowl 2then weigh it.

Pour half the weight of the fruit in sugar into a large pot, then add the pear cubes 3.

Mix well and leave to infuse for 30 minutes 4.

Cook over medium-low heat and bring to a boil, then continue stirring for about an hour. Then mix with an immersion blender 6.

You can store the pear jam in a cool, dry place for 2-3 months. Once the jar is opened, you can put it in the refrigerator and consume it within 3-4 days at the latest.
