Migliaccio: the recipe for the Neapolitan carnival dessert

Pour the milk, water, lemon and orange zest and butter into the saucepan.

Bring to the boil, remove the skins, add the semolina and stir over the heat until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool.

In a bowl, beat the eggs with the grated orange and lemon zest.

Add sugar, cottage cheese and mix well. Gradually add the semolina mixture and mix well.

Pour the mixture into the round mold (24 cm) and bake at 180°C for 1 hour.

Sprinkle icing sugar over the mileage.
