Puff pastry rolls with sausage: the simple and tasty rustici recipe

I sausage puff pastry rolls they are simple and delicious pretzels, excellent to enjoy as antipasti or as a bite for a aperitif. To make them, we merged the minced pork with the spices, before shaping the dough into a sausage using cling film. After resting in the refrigerator, the sausages will be placed on the puff pastry, which will be rolled up and cut into small pieces. Once the rolls of puff pastry have been obtained, they will be brushed with egg yolk, sprinkled with Sesame seeds and baked for half an hour. Here’s how to prepare them.

How to make sausage puff pastry rolls

Mix the ground beef with the onion, garlic, pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, sage, thyme, nutmeg and breadcrumbs.

Prepare 2 sausages with the minced meat, wrap them in transparent film and let them rest in the refrigerator.

Cut the roll into 2 rectangles and wrap the sausage on the long side. Brush the yolk around the edge to seal the roll well.

Leave in the freezer for 10 minutes, or in the refrigerator for the time needed to solidify the roll.

The time has passed, cut it into slices then brush the egg yolk on the dough and sprinkle the sesame seeds.

Bake the rolls in a static oven at 190°C for 30 minutes. Sausage puff pastry rolls are ready to serve.

Advice

Instead of minced meat, you can use ready-made sausage, preferably luganega, suitable for this preparation.

storage

You can store rolls of puff pastry with sausages for A day inside an airtight container, but it would be best to consume them immediately after preparation.
