Ideal for those who do not eat meat or who simply want to reduce their consumption, they will conquer everyone for their flavor and their soft and crunchy texture at the same time. In our recipe, seitan, an ingredient gluten-based, is mixed with already boiled chickpeas, parsley and salt; once the homogeneous mixture has been obtained, the burgers are formed using a cookie cutter then cooked in a pan with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

Served in a soft hamburger bun, accompanied by Yamred onion, lettuce and tomatoes are perfect for a evening with friends a tema fast food o un quick lunch, but just as nutritious, suitable for the whole family. We have topped them with a creamy vegan mayonnaise, but if you wish, you can replace it with guacamole, sun-dried tomato pesto, homemade ketchup sauce or cream made from soy yogurt no added sugar, mustard, tahini and lemon juice.

The seitan burger can be flavored with aromatic herbs and spices to your liking, such as rosemary, mint, paprika or mild curry. You can add cooked vegetables, such as grilled eggplant, grilled zucchini or baked cherry tomatoes, and if you prefer, you can also bake them in the ovenlightly drizzled with oil, at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or in any case until lightly golden.

Of Japanese origin, the I support is a plant food obtained from the processing of wheat flour. Rich in protein and low in fat and cholesterol, it’s the perfect meat substitute. Rather neutral in taste, it absorbs the flavor of the other ingredients with which it is combined: it can be sautéed with the addition of herbs and vegetables, as in our vegetable stew, or combined with pasta or rice, also as a vegan stew. How to prepare the seitan burger

Boil the sweet potato in boiling water for about 30 minutes: it should be cooked but still firm 1. Let it cool then peel it.

Cut the seitan into small pieces 2 and transfer it to a cooking blender. Chop it then collect it in a bowl.

Seitan burgers, without the sandwich, will keep in the fridge for A few days, in a suitable airtight container. Before serving, we recommend reheating them for a few minutes in a pan. You can also freeze them for 3 months.
