Sweet potato sticks: the delicious recipe to prepare them crispy and light


THE sweet potato sticks they are a delicious and tasty preparation, to be served as outline or how delicious antipasti; a variation of potato sticks, made with the american potatoesdal Orange color and of good taste. To make them, we cooked the steamed sweet potatobefore crushing it and mixing it with donkey, flour and some sugar. The dough will then be rolled out, before being cut into sticks, ready to bake in the oven For about 20 minutes. At the end of the preparation, you will obtain crispy and light sweet potato sticks, with a delicate taste, ideal to accompany main dishes based on meat or fish. Here are the steps to make them.

How to make sweet potato sticks

Steam the sweet potato to soften it, about 20 minutes 1. You can also boil it in boiling water if you prefer.

Leave to cool a little then peel 2.

Mash the potato in the bowl until you get a puree 3. Add 50 g of butter.

Add sugar, flour and mix to obtain a compact mixture 4.

Transfer it to a ziplock bag and roll it out with a rolling pin to get a rectangular shape 5. Leave in the freezer for 40 minutes.

Cut the dough into sticks. Transfer them to the baking sheet and brush them with the yolk mixed with the milk 6.

Bake in a static oven at 180°C for 20 minutes 7.

Sweet potato sticks are ready to serve 8.


It is advisable to consume sweet potato sticks immediately after preparation. Alternatively, you can keep them for 1 day in an airtight container.
