Il variegated black cherry ice cream is among the sweets most loved of the summer period, a great classic of Italian ice cream that never goes out of fashion. Preparing it at home, then, is really easier and faster than you can imagine: you will not need an ice cream maker but only a couple of electric whips and a loaf pan, preferably in steel and with a lid. Furthermore, the presence of condensed milk will allow you to obtain a creamy ice cream and that does not freeze, much more greedy and genuine than the one bought in the ice cream parlor.

After combining the cream with the condensed milk, add the maraschino liqueur and whisk everything together until you get a swollen and soft cream. At this point the mixture obtained is alternated with the black cherries, sprinkling the layers with their preservation syrup, and left to rest in the freezer for at least 8 hours. To create the typical variegation effect, just mix the mixture gently with a wooden toothpick or, like ours, in steel. Once ready, the variegated sour cherry ice cream can be enjoyed in all its goodness.

How to prepare variegated black cherry ice cream

Pour the cold cream into a large bowl 1.

Combine the cold condensed milk 2.

Perfumes with maraschino 3.

Mount with electric whips 4.

The mixture of cream and condensed milk must be semi-whipped, like a kind of swollen cream 5.

Start putting the mixture into the mold 6.

It thus forms a layer of about 2 cm 7.

Add the black cherries with the preservation syrup 8.

Cover with a generous layer of ice cream without smoothing it out with a spoon but leaving it swollen and with tufts 9.

Combine the cherries again evenly 10.

Make a third layer of ice cream 11.

Finally cover with black cherries 12.

Sprinkle the ice cream with the black cherry preservation syrup 13.

Mix the ice cream with a toothpick to create the amarena variegation 14.

The variegated sour cherry ice cream is ready to be stored in the freezer for a whole night, or for at least 8 hours 15.

Take the ice cream out of the freezer 5 minutes before serving 16.
