Gua Bao: the recipe for Chinese steamed buns

Yo wao bao they are gods steamed buns typical of Chinese cuisinemade for us by chef michele ghedini. To make these sandwiches special, also known as buns, has a “duck beak” shape, prepared to adapt to any type of filling. In our recipe we made a filling with redone boiled beefof meat broth, cooked with onions my ketchup, but you can also fill them with smoked salmon, Chinese cabbage, spring onion, avocado and soy sauce or choose the filling you prefer. Here’s how to make them at home.

How to prepare guava

Dissolve yeast and honey in milk. In a bowl put the flour and bicarbonate, mix well and little by little add the solution, finally add the milk.

Knead well for 5 minutes, then put the dough in a bowl and leave to rise for about 1 hour at room temperature.

After resting, cut the dough into pieces of about 50-70 grams, then form balls and roll them out.

Brush with seed oil, fold the baos, place on pieces of parchment paper, and let rise covered for another 30 minutes.

Steam the Chinese rolls for 10 minutes, and for best results, let them rest for 5 minutes after cooking with the heat turned off.

To make the boiled beef stir-fry: cook plenty of onion with a pinch of chilli, when cooked add the boiled beef and cloves, mix with a glass of wine and add the tomato puree, cook for at least 30 minutes and Season with salt and pepper

Fill your gua baos and enjoy them immediately.

storage

Once full, consume the gua bao immediately. However, you can keep them without filling for 1 day, wrapped in transparent film.
