How to prepare chestnuts in syrup
Shell the chestnuts and boil them in water for 15 minutes.
Peel them and put them in glass jars.
Pour the water into the pan, add the sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon stick and bring to the boil.
Remove any foam that forms.
Fill the jars with syrup and close them.
Make sure that every time you close the jar, the chestnuts are well covered with water. If not, add a little each time.
Store the well-sealed jar in a cool, dry place, so that it can be stored for about a month.
