Coral waffle: the recipe for crunchy saffron decoration
The coral waffle it’s a crunchy decoration and spectacular, ideal to embellish your dishes and very easy to prepare. You only need 4 ingredients to make it: cold water, flour, seed oil my saffron. The ingredients will be mixed and the mixture will be cooked in a pan until a crispy wafer is obtained. Once ready, use it to give a refined touch to your risottos, to accompany main fish dishes, or to decorate ice creams or spoon desserts. Here is how to prepare it.
How to prepare the coral wafer with saffron
In a bowl, mix the water, the dissolved saffron and the flour.
Add the vegetable oil and continue mixing to combine the ingredients.
Pour the mixture into the pan and cook for a few minutes.
When the pod is easy to remove from the bottom of the pan, it’s done.
Advice
You can substitute flour 00 for rice flour either starch gives more, to make lighter pods. You can also use a Food coloring of your choice instead of saffron.
