How to make pita bread at home

Dissolve the sugar and fresh brewer’s yeast in lukewarm water. Add salt, oil, flour and knead well to form a ball.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise for 20 minutes.

Fold the dough 2 times and let it rise for 20 minutes at a time.

Cut it into 10 balls and let them rise for 20 minutes.

Roll out the balls with a rolling pin and cook them in the oven for 5 minutes at 190°C, until they puff up.

Make a cut in the side of the bread and fill it with the ingredients of your choice.

Advice

Pita bread can be filled with sweet and savory ingredients. You can spread cream cheese on it to make it even softer.

storage

Store pita bread in a cool dry place, it will stay soft for about 2 days.
