A dish that is ready in a few minutes, it is simply prepared by peeling the potatoes, cutting them into regular pieces and cooking them in casseroles, in a pan and covered with a lid, along with the peas and sautéed onion.

The result will be a simple and fragrant dish, to be sprinkled with freshly ground pepper and accompanied by meat and fish main courses, for any lunch either dinner family In this recipe we have used frozen peas, but during the spring we recommend replacing them with fresh peas in their pods, and then choosing yellow-fleshed potatoes: a particularly floury variety that, releasing all its starch during cooking, will make the dish even more delicious and creamy.

Alternatively, you can also opt for new potatoes: more tender and delicate, and excellent to enjoy with the skin on. If you like, you can try the sauce version, adding a few tablespoons of tomato puree to the pan, or you can season it all with spices and aromatic herbs favorite.

How to prepare potatoes and peas
