The Puff Pastry Pizzas I am a antipasti delicious and quick to make, perfect for buffets, birthdays, aperitifs or appetizers with friends or family. It is a simple, very fast preparation, ready in less than 30 minutes, which exploits the versatility of ready-to-use puff pastry. Once the discs have been rolled out and obtained with the special pastry cutter, they are stuffed with tomato sauce, extra virgin olive oil, salt and oregano. If you want them in “margherita” version, you can add cubes of Mozzarella which, when cooked, will melt creating an irresistible stringy condiment. If you prefer, you can also prepare them without or enrich this base with other ingredients of your taste: black olives, anchovy fillets, salami, grilled vegetables, etc.

So that the discs have colored and golden edges, we reveal ours to you little thingthat is to say, brush the bottom of the dough with a veil of beaten egg before adding the sauce. If you use mozzarella, we advise you to cut it into cubes and let it drain well in a colander, pressing it gently with your hands. To give the circular shape, you can use a cookie cutter, as in our recipe, a glass or a stencil with alternate shapes. Also try them in the shape of a heart.

How to prepare puff pastry pizzas

Collect the sauce in a clean bowl and season it with salt and oil 1. Set aside.

Separately open an egg in a small bowl 2 and beat it with a fork until you get a smooth mixture.

Open the dough and, using a 6 cm diameter cookie cutter, cut it at regular intervals 3.

Crush the mozzarella and collect it in a colander 4pressing the pieces together with your hands.

Remove the excess dough between one pizza and the other without touching the discs 5: this way you won’t distort them.

Slide the parchment paper with the pizzas onto a baking pan and brush the pizzas with a thin layer of egg 6.

Spread a tablespoon of sauce on each pizza seven.

Also add the mozzarella on the discs you want to obtain in “margherita” version 8.

Sprinkle the pizzas with oregano and bake in a static oven preheated to 250°C for 10-15 minutes 9.

Remove the pizzas when they are golden and crispy. Serve immediately ten.

storage

It is advisable to take the pizzas out of the oven and eat them hot at the time. They should not be stored, otherwise they will lose their characteristic fragrance.
